Dr. Jason Gemmer, DC

Location: Tempe

Dr. Jason is an Arizona native, born in Tucson and grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. He attended the University of Las Vegas Nevada and then transferred to the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta Canada where he received his Bachelor's in Physical Education.

While working on his degree in Canada, Dr. Gemmer was a strength and conditioning specialist, boxing coach and mentor for amateur/professional boxers and MMA fighters. Although Dr. Gemmer is passionate about the coaching aspect, he knew that there was much more that he wanted to pursue in life not only for himself, but to offer a healthier path for his athletes.

Through searching for the next step, he moved to San Jose, California to attend Palmer West College of Chiropractic where he received his Doctorate in Chiropractic. This is where Dr. Gemmer found his true passion and purpose, which was to give back and educate athletes as well as the general population about not only physical fitness, but the importance of proper body mechanics, muscle recovery and full-body rejuvenation.

Dr. Cameron Call graduated from Parker University in 2015 after receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Brigham Young University. His passion lies in helping individuals enjoy a life unrestricted by chronic health conditions.

Location: Tempe

Dr. Collin Jensen hails from the great state of Nebraska, bringing his passion for helping others to the team at Axis Spine and Sport. Outside the clinic, Dr. Jensen enjoys an active lifestyle that includes playing rugby, hiking, cooking, and spending time outdoors.

Whether it’s pickleball, tubing, paddleboarding, or enjoying live music at concerts, he’s always up for an adventure.

Dr. Jensen finds immense joy in working with the talented team at Axis Spine and Sport, where daily laughter with patients and colleagues is part of the experience. What he loves most about his work is helping patients return to doing what they love while empowering them to take an active role in their health journey.

Dr. Billie Barefoot, DC

Location: Gilbert

Dr. Barefoot is an Arizona native who discovered his passion for natural health while earning his Bachelor of Science degree at Northern Arizona University. He went on to graduate from Parker University’s College of Chiropractic Medicine in Dallas, Texas, and has been practicing in the East Valley for more than 19 years.

As a former Academic All-American wrestler, Dr. Barefoot values the lessons of sports and has devoted himself to coaching high school wrestling programs in the community since 2006. His commitment to the health and well-being of student athletes reflects his passion for both chiropractic care and community service. Dr. Barefoot is excited to bring his experience and dedication to Axis Spine and Sport.

With more than a decade of experience, Dr. James Holloway is a dedicated chiropractor committed to helping patients restore natural movement and achieve long-term wellness.

Based in Tempe, Dr. Holloway integrates functional movement and holistic medicine into his care, empowering patients to live active, pain-free lifestyles by addressing root causes rather than symptoms. When he’s not in the clinic, Dr. Holloway enjoys local sports and athletic events and treasures time with his family, finding balance between his passion for health and his love for those closest to him.

Irais was born and raised in Maryvale, Arizona. He graduated from Metro Tech High School in 2020 and is currently attending Phoenix College. He has practiced MMA since the age of 10 and has received his brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Holly is an Arizona native who grew up in the mountains of Payson while pursuing her rodeo career as a professional barrel racer in her early years. She has been in the medical field for over 20 years, specifically working in sports rehab as well as plastic surgery. She has four children and three grandchildren. In her free time, she loves cheering on her KC Chiefs, hiking Arizona’s trails, and paddleboarding down the Salt River.

Outside of work, I'm all about pushing my limits-whether it's hitting the trails for a run, diving into the intensity of MMA, or leveling up my strength with weightlifting.

Trail running challenges my endurance while giving me a deep sense of freedom and connection with nature, allowing me to clear my mind and stay focused. MMA, on the other hand, helps me embrace both mental and physical toughness. The discipline and strategy involved in training and competing keep me constantly evolving, pushing me to be stronger, faster, and more resilient. I'm also an avid reader, always seeking new knowledge, and my faith in Jesus Christ provides a strong foundation that keeps me grounded and inspired. Additionally, I love volunteering at my church, where I can give back to the community and strengthen my sense of purpose.
