meet the team
Dylan Hernandez D.C.
Dr. Dylan is the founder of Axis Spine and Sport. He graduated as Valedictorian and Summa Cum Laude from Los Angeles Chiropractic College in 2018. Dr. Dylan knew he wanted to be a Chiropractor after numerous sports injuries that were holding him back from performing at the level he wanted to.
He found a Chiropractor who was able to look deeper than symptoms and find the source of his injuries, opening Dr. Dylan’s eyes to something he always believed, that the human body was too complex to try to isolate and needed to be treated as a dynamic, complex system including body, mind, and spirit.
After finishing at the top of his class in Chiropractic school where he met his wife Pam, he moved back to AZ where they had their first child, Skylar Rose Hernandez. Dr. Dylan enjoys spending his free time working out, playing basketball, reading, being outdoors, and spending time with his family. He is a staunch believer in the old saying, “if you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life”.
PAMELA SOMMER D.C.
Dr. Pam graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic in 2018. She won numerous awards in school including the award for clinical excellence. While at LACC she ran the Yoga Club and was on the educational advancement committee.
As the daughter of a chiropractor, Dr. Pam saw from a very early age the benefits of Chiropractic care. Inspired by her mother and driven by her passion for healthy living, Dr. Pam attended Southern California University of Health Sciences and graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Doctorate in Chiropractic.
Understanding that healing isn't always linear, Dr. Pam's approach to care targets the whole person in mind, body, and spirit. It is her goal not only to relieve pain but to help guide her patients down a path of optimal living based on their individual goals and visions. Incorporating various Chiropractic techniques and physical modalities alongside nutrition and stress reduction practices, Dr. Pam works with you to create a sustainable and balanced lifestyle that promotes longevity, increased health-span, and overall well-being.
Dr. Pam received her 500hr Teacher Training Certification from Yoga Vida NYC, has studied Active Release Technique (ART), The McKenzie Method, Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization, functional movement, and nutrition. Upon graduation from Chiropractic school, she was the recipient of several awards including Lester McCoy Clinical Excellence Award, The Presidential Leadership Award, and The Maylon Drake Humanitarian Award.
Prior to Chiropractic School, Dr. Pam was a professional dancer, receiving her BFA in Dance from Rutgers University. In her free time she enjoys spending time with Dr. Dylan and their daughter Skylar, being outside (beach, forest, poolside.. you name it!) exploring new restaurants and local shops, and traveling back to her home state of NJ to visit her family and friends!
